Success Professor.com Articles The other day I got a mind blowing phone call
from a gentleman who ordered my "Real
Estate Secets 2000 Course". I asked him whether he was selling any of his packages. He said "Yes, 3 or 4 a day." That certainly surprised me, so I continued by asking how much it sells for. He said "$167 per package". Well that knocked me over. I picked myself off of the floor. $500 - $650 in sales a day from a site that has only been up a month! No way! My first thought was he must be pulling my chain. I quickly jumped over to his site and it was exactly as has he described it. It looked like someones' first attempt at a web site. Loud colors, huge text, a few unrelated animated graphics. My curiosity was on blazing on fire at this point. "Sir, compared top most folks with brand new sites you are doing quite well. Do you mind telling me what you are doing to generate those sales?" He said "No problem. You see, like I just told you I am a total dummy at this. I started reading some of the information on the web regarding promoting the site and it all seemed too complicated and time consuming. I am in this to make money, not to join a community or make a lifestyle out of it. So I just did what I have done for years to generate direct mail leads." " I bought a little tiny classified ad in USA Today with an 800 number - they call the 800 number and it gives them a message that leads them to my web site. The ad is expensive but I still make hundreds every day." They say "When the pupil is ready the teacher will appear." Instead of the experienced marketer giving helpful advice I now felt like the "Internet Marketing Dummy" myself. This is something I had I never tried. I told him he was doing great by following his instincts and doing what has worked for him before. I gave him some advice on toning down the colors, adding testimonials, removing distracting animation and other touches to make the site look more professional. I felt these changes would increase his conversion rate. I closed by telling him "Thank you for ordering and thank you even
more for a marketing lesson I will never forget. You may be inexperienced in online
marketing but you are one of the smartest folks selling a product on the web that I have
ever met. That's because you knew right out the gate that it takes money and risk to make
money. Most never learn that lesson"
